When treating lung deficiency cough, hemoptysis, and cough with little sputum, it is often used in combination with drugs such as Bletilla striata, Stemona japonica, Ophiopogon japonicus, and Adenophora Root. It can be used together with astragalus, yam, and trichosanthes to treat diabetes.

Modern medical research has proved that Polygonatum sibiricum contains niacin, mucoquinones, organic acids, digitalis glycosides, various anthraquinone compounds and saponins, which can increase coronary blood flow and excite the myocardium.
