I feel hot all over after taking Chinese medicine

In recent years, traditional Chinese medicine has been widely developed, and more and more people have begun to realize the benefits of using traditional Chinese medicine to treat diseases. But we know that there are many details in TCM treatment of diseases. TCM emphasizes symptomatic treatment. If the treatment method is inappropriate, it is likely to bring adverse effects to the body. For example, there are many things to pay attention to when taking traditional Chinese medicine. Some people may suffer adverse effects on their bodies due to improper taking methods. So why do you feel hot all over your body after taking traditional Chinese medicine?

Chinese medicine can be divided into cold, hot and warm types. If you use warm Chinese medicine, you may feel hot. Chinese medicine with hot or warm properties or blood-activating and blood-stasis-removing drugs that accelerate blood circulation can also cause a feeling of heat all over the body.

Here are some traditional Chinese medicines related to fever:

1. Perilla leaves

Regulate Qi and harmonize the Ying. Treat colds, chills and fever, cough, asthma, chest and abdominal distension, and fetal movement disorder. It can also detoxify fish and crabs. It is used for colds, fever, chills, headache, nasal congestion, cough or chest tightness. It is often used in combination with apricot kernel, peucedanum chinense, etc., such as Xingsusan; if there is also qi stagnation and chest tightness, it is often used in combination with cyperus rotundus, tangerine peel, etc., such as Susan.

2. Ginger

Ginger is warm in nature, and its unique "gingerol" can stimulate the gastrointestinal mucosa, causing gastrointestinal congestion and enhancing digestion ability. It can effectively treat abdominal distension, abdominal pain, diarrhea, vomiting, etc. caused by eating too much cold food. After eating ginger, people will feel hot. This is because it can dilate blood vessels, speed up blood circulation, and cause the pores on the body to open. This not only takes away excess heat, but also takes away germs and cold air in the body.

3. Pueraria root slices

The main ingredient of Pueraria lobata decoction slices is Pueraria lobata, which can relieve muscles and reduce fever, promote fluid production and quench thirst, promote the production of rashes, raise yang and stop diarrhea, promote blood circulation and activate collaterals, and detoxify alcohol. It is used for exogenous fever, headache, stiff neck and back pain, thirst, polydipsia, measles that does not break out, febrile dysentery, and diarrhea. Dizziness and headache, hemiplegia caused by stroke, chest pain and heart pain, and injuries caused by disinfection. Brew and take, 1-2 grams at a time, 2-3 times a day. It can be brewed repeatedly until it has no taste and taken together with the residue. It can be used in combination with other medicines, or as directed by a doctor.

4. Saffron

Saffron is sweet and cold, and has the effects of promoting blood circulation, removing blood stasis, dredge meridians, cooling blood and detoxifying, as well as nourishing blood. It is used to treat stomach problems, regulating menstruation, measles, fever, jaundice, hepatosplenomegaly, etc. The most common way to eat saffron is to soak it in water. It is very simple and practical. You only need to take out an appropriate amount of saffron, about 3 to 8 roots, add boiling water and brew it.

Traditional Chinese medicine treatment emphasizes dialectical treatment, and only the right medicine is effective. Therefore, before using traditional Chinese medicine treatment, please consult a professional doctor and avoid using medicine blindly.
