Gardenia and its different processed products' alcohol extracts all have antipyretic effects, among which raw gardenia has a stronger antipyretic effect. Ursolic acid is one of the effective ingredients in gardenia that can reduce fever and provide sedative effects. The ursolic acid content was significantly reduced after charcoal frying, so the antipyretic effect of fried gardenia was significantly weakened, but this was not the case with charred gardenia. Gardenia water extract has inhibitory effects on many skin fungi and hemolytic streptococci.
