Chinese Medicine Guan Zhong

The root of the raw Chinese medicinal material is cylindrical, slightly twisted, with a large root head and densely covered with gray-white hairs. The surface is dark brown with obvious longitudinal wrinkles, sometimes with ring marks on the top, and has cylindrical rhizomes or rhizome residues. The texture is hard but slightly brittle, the fracture surface is flat, the texture is slightly brittle, the cambium rings are obvious in the cross section, the cortex is light yellow, the wood is yellow-brown or light pink, and they are arranged in an obvious radial pattern. Slight smell, slightly bitter taste.

Root cross section identified under a microscope: cork body cells are arranged in rows and closely spaced. The epidermis is narrow. The phloem is narrow, and the phloem fibers are mostly scattered individually, with thick walls and are mostly lignified. The cambium is ring-shaped. The phloem makes up the vast majority of the root. The thin-walled cells are filled with cassava starch, and calcium oxalate clusters are widely distributed in the epidermis and thin-walled cells.

Changes in the efficacy of Poria cocos: limited coldness; bitterness

The changed source of Chinese medicinal materials is limited to the root or root-containing wolfberry of the green plant Potentilla japonica of the Rosaceae family.

Change the method of use. Limited dosage for oral use: decoction, 15-30g; powder, 1-1.5g; or soak in wine. External application: mash and apply as appropriate; or grind into powder and sprinkle.

1. Treat rheumatic joint pain: Soak 90g of Glehnia littoralis root in medicinal wine and drink. (Prescriptions 4-5 are from Guizhou Folk Medicines).

2. Treat gastrointestinal bleeding: add 60g of Radix Scutellariae leaves to 1200ml of water. Fry until reduced to 300ml. Take 100 ml each time, 3 times a day. (Recipes 2-3 are from "Honghe Chinese Herbal Medicine").

3. To treat dysentery: 30g of fresh Herba Glehniae chinensis. Decoction in water. Put appropriate amount of old brown sugar in a pot, add 60g of wine, boil it, then add the decocted medicine liquid and then take it. (Guizhou Folk Medicine).

4. "Compendium of Materia Medica in Southern Yunnan": For treating uterine bleeding, secretions, and intestinal bleeding, use new tiles to bake; for treating cold and pain in the face, use white wine as an inducer.

5. "Guizhou Folk Medicine": Treats dysentery, carbuncle, and rheumatism.

6. "Selected Chinese Herbal Medicines from Simao, Yunnan": Clears away heat, detoxifies, promotes blood circulation, and has anti-inflammatory and astringent properties. Treat dysentery, enteritis, stomachache, hemoptysis, hematemesis, traumatic bleeding, and menstrual pain.

7. "Yunnan Chinese Herbal Medicine Selection": Disperses blood and promotes blood circulation, and has astringent properties to treat diarrhea. Treat hemoptysis, hematemesis, epistaxis, indigestion, anemia, and red and white dysentery caused by pulmonary tuberculosis.

8. To treat dysentery: 1 liang of fresh Herba Glehniae. Add water and fry until done. Put an appropriate amount of old brown sugar in the pot, add two taels of wine, light it on fire, then add the decocted medicine liquid, and then take it.

9. To treat carbuncle and boil: Crush fresh Herba Glehniae and apply to the wound, keeping the top and replace it when it dries.

10. To treat rheumatic joint pain: 3 liang of Glechoma longituba root. Soak in medicinal wine and drink. (The "Guizhou Folk Medicines" are listed under the tumor prescription).

11. To treat bleeding from wounds: Grind the roots of the white leaves into powder and sprinkle. (Selected Chinese Herbal Medicines in Simao, Yunnan).
