The efficacy and function of bitter grass

Gallbladder grass is quite common in life. This is also what people often call Andrographis paniculata. Gallbladder grass is widely used in life and has certain medicinal value to people's body. At the same time, the extracts from bitter grass also have very significant effects and functions, and can be used to treat and prevent many diseases. When using bitter grass, you should also pay attention to the usage method to avoid accidental ingestion.

1. Clear away heat and reduce inflammation

It has a significant antipyretic effect on experimental fever and a significant inhibitory effect on experimental inflammation. The anti-inflammatory effect of Andrographis paniculata is related to the stimulation of the pituitary-adrenal cortex system. It has been clinically used for a variety of infectious diseases, including traumatic infection, furuncle, carbuncle, erysipelas, upper respiratory tract infection, acute and chronic tonsillitis, acute and chronic pharyngitis, acute and chronic bronchitis, acute bacillary dysentery, acute gastroenteritis, urinary tract infection, endometritis, pelvic inflammatory disease, otitis media, periodontitis, etc., all with varying degrees of therapeutic effect.

2. Antibacterial

The clinical efficacy of the neoandrographolide contained in Andrographis paniculata in treating bacterial dysentery is better than that of chloramphenicol and furazolidone, and it has no side effects or toxicity. In vitro tests have shown that the decoction of Andrographis paniculata and the crude crystals separated from it have inhibitory or killing effects on certain types of Leptospira. The decoction has a certain inhibitory effect on Pneumococcus, Streptococcus alpha and Catarrhalis.

3. Anti-snake venom

Both the alcohol extract and aqueous solution of Andrographis paniculata have obvious anti-rattlesnake venom effects. The main mechanism is that the extract of Andrographis paniculata has no effect on the activity of nicotinic acid receptors, but shows obvious muscarine-like effects. In India, Andrographis paniculata is often used to treat various snake venoms.

4. Antiviral

Andrographis paniculata decoction has a delaying effect on the degeneration of human embryonic kidney cells caused by orphan virus ECHO11. Andrographis paniculata has a certain anti-HIV effect in in vitro experiments.

5. Protect liver and promote bile secretion

Andrographolide has a significant antagonistic effect on liver damage and can reduce serum ALT, ASTAKP, SB and intrahepatic triglycerides. Andrographolide also has a significant choleretic effect.
