Isatis flowers and rapeseed flowers

Isatis flowers and rapeseed flowers

Medicines from Europe and the United States are called drugs, and medicines from cultivation are called Chinese medicinal materials. To put it simply, Chinese medicinal materials refer to Chinese herbal medicines. The core concept of traditional Chinese medicine is that all plants have medicinal effects, but the pharmacological structures of some Chinese medicinal materials have not yet been scientifically verified. However, this cannot deny their efficacy and effects. After all, Chinese medicinal materials have a long history and are recorded in pharmacological works. Moreover, these scientifically verified Chinese medicinal materials have long been used in clinical medicine. Isatis root granules are a traditional Chinese medicine that we often come into contact with in daily life. Do the Isatis Indigotica flower and the Rapeseed flower look very similar?

Isatis root granules (common aliases: indigo root, blue indigo root, and isatis root) is a Chinese herbal medicine. It is the dried root of the Isatis genus of the Cruciferae family of the Papaveales order. It is usually harvested in autumn and can be used as medicine after processing. It is produced all over the country. Isatis root powder is divided into northern isatis root powder and southern isatis root powder. The northern isatis root powder comes from the root of the cruciferous plant Isatis indigotica. Southern Isatis Root is the underground stem and root of the green plant Isatis indigotica of the Acanthaceae family. It is cold in nature, tastes slightly sweet at first and then bitter, and has the effects of clearing away heat and fire, preventing influenza, and relieving sore throat.

Isatis root granules are the roots of Isatis indigotica and Isatis indigotica or the underground stems and roots of the Acanthaceae plant Isatis indigotica. Isatis root granules taste slightly bitter and have the effects of clearing away heat and fire, dispersing blood, removing spots, and relieving sore throat. They are mainly used to treat symptoms such as fever due to febrile diseases, headache, sore throat, rashes, mumps, carbuncles, and sores. Isatis root granules have a broad-spectrum antibacterial effect outside the body (including dysentery bacteria, salmonella, and hemolytic streptomyces). It is a traditional Chinese herbal medicine that can inhibit bacteria, reduce inflammation, relieve pain, and reduce fever. In addition, Isatis Root Granules contain a variety of antiviral substances, which have strong inhibitory and elimination effects on influenza virus, mumps virus, hepatitis B virus and meningococcal virus. Isatis root granules are used together with Guanzhong, honeysuckle tea, wild chrysanthemum, etc. to treat some infectious diseases.

However, Chinese medicine reminds us that although the side effects of Isatis Root Granules are small, frequent consumption is harmful to the human body. These three types of people are advised not to eat them casually.

1. People with yin deficiency and internal heat are not suitable for Isatis root granules

People who have a constitution prone to yin deficiency and internal heat will drink more Xiao Chaihu Granules, which will damage the liver due to its slight coldness, and produce a series of digestive tract reactions, causing stomach pain, chills, loss of appetite and other symptoms. Especially for children, whose gastrointestinal function is not perfect, taking too much Isatis Root Granules is more likely to cause indigestion and other symptoms. Therefore, people with spleen and stomach problems, prone to diarrhea, fear of cold, and yin deficiency and internal heat are not suitable to drink more isatis root.

2. Patients with fever and cold other than wind-heat cold are not suitable for Isatis Root Granules

As a common heat-clearing and detoxifying medicine, Isatis root granules are not a panacea for every fever and cold. They are only suitable for the treatment of febrile diseases such as wind-heat colds and influenza, but are not suitable for wind-cold colds, physical weakness colds, etc. Isatis root granules are ineffective against respiratory infections caused by Chlamydia, Chlamydia pneumoniae and Legionella. Even if it is the same wind-heat cold, different patients may have individual differences such as dampness, internal fire, etc. Isatis root granules are more suitable for wind-heat cold with internal heat, and are not suitable for patients with wind-cold, wind-heat, dampness and fever.

3. People with allergic constitution are not suitable for Isatis root granules

People with allergic constitution should not use Isatis root powder. Most of the allergic symptoms are caused by Isatis root injection, and the main manifestations are dizziness, chest tightness and shortness of breath, vomiting, panic, rash, and sometimes systemic erythema multiforme drug rash. In severe cases, blood pressure drops and anaphylactic shock occurs. If not treated in time, it can be life-threatening. If you are allergic to Isatis Root Granules, avoid using it. Isatis root granules have little toxicity and side effects, and only a small amount of taking the basic amount will cause mild gastrointestinal symptoms.

If people take too much Isatis Root Granules when they are healthy, it will hurt the stomach and intestines and easily cause illness. Therefore, taking Isatis Root Granules to prevent diseases must be appropriate, do not take it for too long, and the taking time should not exceed 3 days. If large doses of Isatis Root Granules are used for a long time, the liver's detoxification ability will be reduced and it will cause cumulative poisoning, resulting in damage to the digestive tract and hematopoietic system. Such symptoms are especially common in children because their various organs are not fully developed, their kidney function is not perfect, and their body does not secrete enough detoxifying enzymes.
