In fact, the medicinal value of fire charcoal mother is very high, and it has a significant therapeutic effect on many diseases such as hepatitis, tonsillitis, vaginitis and whooping cough.

1. Efficacy of Fire Carbon Mother

Clears away heat and detoxifies, promotes dampness and eliminates stagnation, cools blood and relieves itching, improves eyesight and removes cataracts. It is mainly used to treat dysentery, enteritis, indigestion, hepatitis, colds, tonsillitis, pharyngitis, diphtheria, whooping cough, corneal opacity, candidal vaginitis, leucorrhea, mastitis, furunculosis, impetigo in children, eczema, and snake bites.

2. The role of fire charcoal

Antibacterial effect: The decoction of this product has a strong antibacterial effect against Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, anthrax bacteria, group B streptococcus, diphtheria bacteria, typhoid bacteria, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Shigella dysenteriae in test tubes. The alcohol extract or water extract of this product also has a strong antibacterial effect on Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella pneumoniae and Shigella dysenteriae.

Anti-hepatitis B virus effect: Using the in vitro test method of inhibiting hepatitis B virus DNA polymerase (HBV-DNAP) and degrading HBV-DNA, it was found that the decoction of this product had an inhibition rate of DNAP of more than 50%, and an effect of degrading HBV-DNA of more than 25%, indicating that this product has an anti-hepatitis B virus effect.

Effects on smooth muscle and skeletal muscle: The decoction of this product has no significant effect on the isolated guinea pig ileum, but has an inhibitory effect on the isolated rat uterus; the water extract has a contractile effect on the isolated guinea pig ileum, and can slightly enhance the tension of the isolated rabbit duodenum. The decoction had no effect on the toad rectus abdominis muscle, and the water extract had no effect on the rat diaphragm-phrenic nerve preparation.

Antihypertensive effect: The decoction had no significant effect in the rat hind limb perfusion experiment, but intravenous injection of 0.1 g (raw drug)/kg into anesthetized dogs had a hypotensive effect.

Central nervous system depressant effect: Intraperitoneal injection of 10g (fresh herb)/kg of the water extract into mice has a central nervous system depressant effect, manifested as movement disorders, and can prolong the hypnotic time of cyclohexylbarbital sodium.

Toxicity: Intravenous injection of 5g (fresh herb)/kg of the water extract caused central nervous system depression, movement disorders, deeper and faster breathing, and mild head tremors in mice. One out of five mice died after 24 hours. After intraperitoneal injection of 1 g (raw drug) of the decoction per mouse, all mice died within 24 hours.

3. Landscape Use

Fireweed is a garden vertical greening material, suitable for planting in courtyards, flower paths or around buildings, and has a wild appeal. The roots and stems can be used as medicine. The leaves are sour and edible.
