How to use Chinese medicine to replenish qi and blood?

Using traditional Chinese medicine to replenish qi and blood is actually very effective. If you use traditional Chinese medicine and food together to make medicinal diet, it will be a more common method. There are actually many medicinal herbs that can replenish qi and blood, such as Codonopsis pilosula, Astragalus membranaceus, American ginseng, etc. Each medicinal herb has different medicinal properties. Friends should understand the properties of the medicinal herbs before taking them.

1. Codonopsis pilosula

Codonopsis pilosula is the root of the perennial herb Codonopsis pilosula of the Campanulaceae family, and the best one is the Lushen ginseng from Shanxi. It contains inulin, biotin, saponins, vitamins B1 and B2, which can excite the central nervous system, invigorate the spirit, eliminate fatigue, increase red blood cells and hemoglobin, and increase immunity. In addition, it also has a raising effect on the decrease in blood cells caused by chemotherapy and radiation.

This product is mild in nature and sweet in taste. It has the functions of tonifying the middle and replenishing Qi, promoting the production of body fluid and nourishing blood. It is often used for fatigue, shortness of breath and palpitations caused by Qi deficiency, poor appetite and loose stools, thirst caused by damage to both Qi and body fluid, and atrophy caused by deficiency of both Qi and blood. If soaking in wine, chop Codonopsis pilosula into pieces and soak it in 1 jin of rice wine or white wine. Take it after 1 month, 2-3 tablespoons each time, 3 times a day. If decocted in water, take 9-15 grams each time for oral administration. This product is antagonistic to Veratrum and should not be used together.

2. Astragalus

Astragalus is the dried root of the leguminous plant Astragalus. The best ones are those with yellow-white flesh, hard texture and easy to break, rich in powder, sweet taste, and no black core or hollowness.

Astragalus is slightly warm in nature and sweet in taste. It has the functions of tonifying Qi and raising Yang, replenishing Qi and strengthening the exterior, expelling toxins and promoting tissue regeneration, promoting diuresis and reducing swelling. It is suitable for spontaneous sweating, night sweats, blood stasis, edema, painful carbuncles that do not ulcerate, internal injuries and fatigue, spleen deficiency diarrhea, prolapse of the anus and all symptoms of Qi deficiency and blood deficiency.

Astragalus contains carbohydrates, folic acid and various amino acids. It can excite the central nervous system, so it can boost spirits, resist fatigue, improve immune function, enhance disease resistance, and is quite effective in preventing qi deficiency, colds and infections. It also has cardiotonic, diuretic and blood pressure lowering effects. It contains the trace element selenium, which is the natural enemy of cancer, so Astragalus has anti-cancer effects.

If decocted in water, the dosage is 9-30 grams each time; however, it should not be used by those with symptoms of excess heat such as high fever, severe thirst, constipation, etc.

3. American Ginseng

American ginseng, also known as American ginseng, is mainly produced in the United States and Canada. The one transplanted to my country is called seed ginseng. Its root is used for medicinal purposes and is a precious medicinal material. It is a wonderful product for tonic and health care. Anyone who wants to use ginseng but cannot tolerate its warmth can use it.

American ginseng tastes sweet and slightly bitter. It can replenish qi and nourish yin, clear away heat and produce body fluid. It is suitable for symptoms such as lung deficiency and fatigue cough, chronic cough, wheezing and coughing, hemoptysis, pulmonary tuberculosis and aphonia. Take 1-3 grams of this product, decoct it in water and drink it instead of tea. It has the effect of moistening the throat and beautifying the voice. Opera and singing actors often drink it, which is beneficial to voice health. American ginseng is also a good product for sports health care. It can be taken by people who are tired, thirsty, and sweating after intense activities.

When using, it can be ground into fine powder, 1-1.5 grams each time, with warm water; it can also be decocted in water alone, 1.5-3 grams per dose; when storing, it must be preserved from corrosion and insects, and can be: sealed after drying, or stored in a cool and dry place. This product should not be used together with Veratrum, and should not be used by those suffering from cold deficiency.
