Sandworms are usually more common in areas of some ethnic minorities, and are even considered a specialty. They can be eaten through some steaming methods, and their edible value is also very high. Generally speaking, they have high efficacy and contain a lot of nutrients, the most of which is protein. However, they should not be consumed frequently. If consumed appropriately, the effect may be better for people's health. The scientific name of the sand-climbing worm is Chrysops sinensis. In addition to most people calling it "sand-climbing worm", the Panzhihua area also calls it "Anning native ginseng" or "insect ginseng", Jingdong, Xishuangbanna, Pu'er, Honghe and other areas in Yunnan call it "crawling worm", "claw (armor) worm", "stone maggot" or "water centipede", the famous longevity town Bama in Guangxi calls it "crawling worm", Jishou in Hunan and other places call it "water centipede", Loudi calls the sand-climbing worm "black land cattle", and Guilin in Guangxi and other places call it "water worm". The Chinese giant lacewing likes to hide in dark places during the day and come out at night. During the breeding period, the adults lay eggs in the cracks of pebbles near the shore. Under suitable humidity and temperature conditions (the dry and hot valleys in the Panxi area are particularly suitable for this condition), the eggs are hatched into what we commonly call sand crawlers. The insect is generally 6 to 9 centimeters long, dark green or dark brown, with a small head, many legs, and a flat mouth. Its shape is ugly and ferocious. Not to mention eating it, just looking at it is disgusting. However, don't judge this insect by its appearance. Don't underestimate this ugly monster. The locals along the Anning River have long used it for "raw and cooked supplements". It is very effective in treating frequent urination at night due to physical weakness in the elderly and bedwetting in children. According to measurements, sandworms are rich in protein, multiple amino acids, multiple trace elements and multiple medicinal ingredients. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that it is warm in nature and sweet in taste, and has the effects of replenishing qi and kidney, suppressing deficiency and consolidating the foundation, and nourishing and strengthening the body. It can be regarded as a good medicine and food. It is also known as "animal ginseng". Wash the sandworms, blanch them in boiling water until they are hard, take them out, pinch off the head and tail, remove the sand intestines, peel them and take out the clean meat, then mix them with salt, ginger, onion and cooking wine to marinate. Peel the celery, clean the fresh lilies, remove the stems and wash the red peppers. Cut them into slices and blanch them in boiling water. Place a clean pot on high heat, add salad oil and heat it to 70% to 80% hot, put in the marinated sandworms and stir-fry, add celery slices, lily slices and red pepper slices, stir-fry briefly, then add the sauce made with broth, pepper, chicken essence, salt, MSG, wet starch, etc., stir well, drizzle with cooking oil, and serve. This dish has a natural color, is crispy and refreshing, and tastes salty and fresh. It is especially suitable for middle-aged and elderly people. |
