It is used to treat wind-heat colds and sore throats, and is often used together with honeysuckle, forsythia, schizonepeta, platycodon, etc., such as Yinqiao Powder; if wind-heat is congested, sore throat, and heat toxicity is more severe, it can be used together with rhubarb, mint, schizonepeta, saposhnikovia, etc., such as Burdock Soup; if wind-heat coughs and sputum is excessive and difficult to pass, it is often used with schizonepeta, platycodon, peucedanum, and liquorice.

3. Used to treat measles.

This product has the effects of clearing, purging and dispersing, and can dispel wind-heat, purge heat toxins and promote the outbreak of rashes. Kun is used to treat measles that does not break out or breaks out but then disappears again. It is often used together with mint, schizonepeta, cicada shells, lithospermum officinale, etc., such as Touzhan Decoction.

4. Used for carbuncle, sore, mumps and throat paralysis.

This product is pungent and cold in nature, and has the nature of clearing and descending while rising and floating. It can disperse wind-heat externally and discharge its toxins internally, and has the effects of clearing away heat and detoxifying, reducing swelling and relieving sore throat. It is also slippery in nature and can also promote bowel movements. Therefore, it can be used to treat external wind-heat attack, internal fire poison, pain, swelling, sores, and constipation. It is often used together with rhubarb, sodium sulfate, gardenia, forsythia, and mint. This product is used together with Trichosanthes, Forsythia, Radix Trichosanthis, and Citrus aurantium, and can also be used to treat breast abscess caused by liver depression and fire transformation, and stomach heat obstructing the collaterals, such as Trichosanthes and Burdock Decoction. This product is used together with Scrophularia, Scutellaria, Coptis, and Isatis root, and can also be used to treat heat and toxic symptoms such as plague poison in the chin, mumps and throat paralysis, such as Puji Disinfection Drink.

5. Prevention of scarlet fever:

Take burdock seeds, fry and grind into powder, sieve and store for later use. 2-5 years old: 1 gram each time, 5-9 years old: 1.5 grams each time, 10-15 years old: 2 grams each time, adults: 3 grams each time, 3 times a day, with warm water after meals, for 2 days in total. During the epidemic period, in addition to taking preventive medication, we should still pay attention to controlling the source of infection, cutting off the transmission route, etc. 344 cases were clinically observed, 7 of whom became ill; 327 cases (98%) did not become ill within 12 days after taking the medicine. Generally, the preventive effect is better if the medication is taken within 3 days after contact, but the preventive effect is poor if the medication is taken after 6 days.
