Luobu Ma, also known as red hemp, tea flower, red willow, etc., grows on sandy soil on river banks, ravines, and hillsides. It is distributed in Liaoning, Jilin, Inner Mongolia, Gansu, Xinjiang, Shaanxi, Shanxi, Shandong, Henan, Hebei, Jiangsu and northern Anhui. It has the effects of clearing heat, lowering blood pressure, strengthening the heart, and diuresis.

Efficacy: Soothes the liver and calms the mind, clears away heat and promotes diuresis.

Indications: Dizziness caused by liver yang, palpitations, insomnia, edema and oliguria; edema caused by hypertension, neurasthenia, and nephritis.

Treatment for hypertension: Use 1-2 qian of Luobu Ma leaves daily, soak them in boiling water and drink as tea; or decoct and take them at regular times in the morning and evening.

The longer the time of taking Luobu Ma tea, the higher the therapeutic effect, but there is no obvious relationship between the therapeutic effect of Luobu Ma and the duration of the disease. It has a good effect in relieving headaches, dizziness, brain swelling, insomnia, dreaminess and edema. This medicine is more suitable for patients in stages I and II; or as an auxiliary agent for the treatment of hypertension, it has a good effect on improving symptoms.

In addition to lowering blood pressure, Luobu Ma tea has many other effects:

Delaying aging and beautifying: It has obvious antioxidant effects and reduces the formation of cataracts. The fat-burning ingredients in the essences of flowers and plants plus the various compounds in tea such as inositol, folic acid, pantothenic acid and aromatic substances can regulate fat metabolism.

Promote digestion, resist constipation, moisten the intestines and promote bowel movements: Luobu Ma tea contains a large amount of amino acids, organic acids and other nutrients, which can promote the biosynthesis of gastric acid and stimulate the secretion of gastric juice. Therefore, it has the effects of digesting food, relieving stagnation, strengthening the spleen and stomach, and soothing the liver and promoting qi. It has certain effects on indigestion, gastritis, enteritis, chronic constipation, etc.

Cardiotonic and diuretic are auxiliary treatments for diabetes: Quercetin is one of the main active ingredients of Luobu Ma and also has obvious diuretic effects. In addition, Luobu Ma tea contains a high level of magnesium, up to 930 mg per 100 grams. The magnesium element is directly related to the secretion of insulin by the pancreas. The insulin secreted by the pancreatic islets is released after being stimulated by cholecystokinin, and cholecystokinin requires magnesium to activate. Therefore, drinking Luobu Ma tea has an auxiliary therapeutic effect on diabetes.

The calming effect of poor sleep: the extract of Apocynum venetum leaves has a synergistic effect on the sedative and hypnotic effect of pentobarbital

Arrhythmia: The flavonoids contained in Luobu Ma tea can play an anti-arrhythmia, anti-myocardial ischemia, relieve angina pectoris and improve cardiac function by scavenging active oxygen free radicals. It also helps to improve cerebral ischemia and enhance the brain's oxygen supply capacity, thus having a certain rehabilitation effect on heart, vascular diseases, hemiplegia, dementia and other diseases.

Antibacterial, antiviral, anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects: If you have skin sores, ulcers with pus, or skin breaks due to trauma, rinse the affected area with concentrated Lophatherum gracile tea, which has anti-inflammatory and bactericidal effects. Oral inflammation, ulcers, and sore throat can be treated with Luobu Ma tea, which also has a certain effect.

Contraindications: Use with caution in patients with spleen deficiency and slow fright.

It is very appropriate to use Lophatherum gracile tea reasonably according to the compatibility of traditional Chinese medicine. But you must never treat it as a health food or even ordinary tea and drink it frequently by soaking it in water. Its harm to the human body is mainly manifested in damage to the liver and kidneys, which is exactly the same as the damage to the liver and kidneys caused by long-term use of antibiotic injections. Especially the kidneys, if you drink Luobu Ma as ordinary tea for a long time, it will lead to kidney failure and uremia.
