Perilla root has the effect of dispelling cold and relieving cold symptoms When you catch a cold, soaking perilla root in water or boiling it with ginger and drinking it hot can drive away the cold and also improve coughs; directly soaking perilla root in hot water and using it to soak your feet is also a good way to drive away the cold. 4. Antibacterial effect Perilla root can inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus aureus in vitro.
