Regarding the problem of pesticide residues in fruits and vegetables, even the government’s agricultural policy agencies can only advise everyone to soak them in water more often. Dr. Chen from Chaoyang University of Technology discovered a very simple solution: baking soda.

Soak a tablespoon of baking soda in water until the water turns slightly yellow, then put the fruits and vegetables in to wash. Expert: "Soak for 2 to 3 minutes and it will be OK, then you can eat it."

Remove pesticides in 2 minutes, and then see how it removes chlorine from tap water.

Baking soda is so magical that it can remove pesticides and chlorine. Experts say that it is actually very simple. Baking soda is actually sodium bicarbonate powder with the chemical formula NaHCO3. Na is sodium with positive charge. When it is put into tap water, it will combine with the negatively charged chlorine in the water to become sodium chloride, which is salt. This solves the problem of chlorine poisoning in tap water.

Next is H (hydrogen). Hydrogen carries a positive charge and when added to water it will combine with negatively charged water molecules O2 to become OH (weak alkaline water). Generally speaking, most pesticides are acidic, so in addition to neutralizing the acidity, weak alkaline water can also accelerate the removal of pesticides attached to fruits and vegetables.

Experts emphasize that baking soda has another magical use. Adding a little before blanching vegetables can prevent the loss of chlorophyll, and the blanched vegetables are less likely to turn yellow.

Baking soda foot bath to treat high blood pressure

One patient's blood pressure was often around 180/90 mmHg. He took various antihypertensive drugs, but the effects of multiple treatments were not obvious. Later, an old man introduced him to washing feet with baking soda, and his blood pressure slowly dropped.

The method is: boil the water, add two or three teaspoons of baking soda, and start washing when the water temperature is suitable for putting your feet down, and wash for 20-30 minutes each time.

The effect was very obvious after washing 5 times. It has been more than 10 years now and I have not had high blood pressure again.

Baking Soda is a commercial name. Baking soda can be naturally decomposed, is non-toxic, will not pollute the environment, and has low irritation and does not irritate the skin. Generally, carbonated hot spring water contains a high content of sodium bicarbonate, which is completely harmless to the human body and has no health or safety concerns. It is used in food preparation, pastry making, environmental cleaning, descaling, deodorization, medicine, etc. It is almost a universal item.

Since washing things with baking soda is very simple and requires almost no skills, and it saves a lot of water when rinsing, it not only does not pollute the earth's environment, but also has a very good deodorizing effect. Therefore, Americans often use it in housework or cooking. In Japan, the use of baking soda is also gradually being used in the lives of ordinary people. For removing dirt or odors from the home environment, and even for other functions, baking soda can be said to be an essential tool for achieving a high-quality life. Currently, there are many groups in the United States and Japan promoting the use of baking soda for home cleaning.

Baking soda can be bought almost everywhere. If you want to use it in cooking, remember to choose baking soda for food (medicinal) use.

If it is used for cleaning, washing clothes, although you can also use edible baking soda, I suggest you buy industrial baking soda which is cheap and has a larger capacity (it can also be purchased in some pharmacies), which is more in line with economic principles and environmental protection demands.

Examples of Baking Soda Uses

Cooking

In addition to being used in cakes, baking soda can also be added to the pot to neutralize the sour taste if too much vinegar is accidentally added when cooking food. When boiling or stir-frying vegetables, add some baking soda to the pot and the vegetables will be extra green.

Excessive stomach acid

If you feel burning sensation in your stomach, or even pain, or have belching, you can take a teaspoon (about 0.5 grams) of baking soda, add a cup (about 200CC) of warm water, and drink it slowly (it will taste a bit salty). After a while, the carbon dioxide gas produced by the neutralization of stomach acid and baking soda will escape from your mouth, and all symptoms will be relieved immediately.
