How to Plant Gastrodia Elata

Gastrodia elata is a precious Chinese medicinal material with the effects of dispelling wind, regulating blood, nourishing blood, strengthening tendons and bones, etc. The industry has a very good prospect. You can use the existing farmland at home to start your own business and make a fortune by planting Gastrodia elata. How should it be planted?

Method/Process

1. The planting time of Gastrodia elata is from April to May in spring, or from October to November in autumn. Among them, planting in spring will have better quality. The growth cycle of Gastrodia elata is six months. If it is sown in early spring, it can be harvested in autumn and winter. If it is sown in autumn and winter, it can be harvested in spring.

2 When selecting Gastrodia elata seeds, it is best to select tubers that are smooth, without worm holes, scars, of moderate shape, and with a glossy color.

3. The soil layer suitable for Gastrodia elata is a loose, breathable sandy soil layer with a pH value between 5 and 6, which is acidic.

4. Gastrodia elata does not need liquid fertilizer during the planting process. It only needs to be watered to keep the soil moist. However, it cannot retain water and is not resistant to waterlogging.

5. Gastrodia elata only needs diffuse light. The excessively strong sunlight in summer is not good for its growth and development, so it needs to be blocked by a sunshade.

6. The suitable temperature for the growth of Gastrodia elata is 20 to 25 degrees. If it is less than 10 degrees or 30 degrees, it will show poor growth. Affects harvest.

7 In addition to tuber planting, Gastrodia elata can also be planted with seeds. Unlike other green plants, it is not easy to germinate by planting alone. You need to dig a hole first, spread tree branches containing Cordyceps sinensis at the bottom of the hole, and then plant them. Only in this way can Gastrodia elata germinate.

During the winter, Gastrodia elata can generally withstand extremely low temperatures of minus three degrees in the soil, and will suffer from cold damage when the temperature is lower than minus five degrees.

2 The most suitable growth temperature for Gastrodia elata and Armillaria mellea is 20 to 25 degrees. When the temperature of Gastrodia elata growth reaches above 30 degrees, the growth of Armillaria mellea and Gastrodia elata will be inhibited.

3. Soil drought will cause the tubers of Gastrodia elata to wither due to lack of water, the growth of Armillaria melleaf will stop due to lack of water, and a large number of newborn Gastrodia elata seedlings will die, especially in July and August when Gastrodia elata grows most rapidly.
