【Original form】Deciduous shrub. It is more than 1 meter tall, erect, with thick branches covered with wool. Simple leaves are alternate; narrowly rectangular to nearly obovate, 7-10 cm long, gradually pointed to obtuse at the apex, with small serrations on the margin, and rounded to broadly cuneate at the base. The leaf surface is green with glandular dots and covered with coarse hairs, and the back is white and densely covered with silky or cottony hairs. The capitula is terminal or axillary nearly at the top, forming dense umbels; the involucral bracts are in several rows, rectangular to broadly lanceolate, 3-7 mm long, 1 mm wide, short-haired, with membranous edges. They curl up when mature; the receptacle is bare with pits; the front end of the ligulate corolla is 3-lobed, the tubular corolla is 5-lobed, and is yellow; there are 5 stamens, the base of the anthers is sagittal, with a long tail; the ovary is inferior, 1-chambered, and the stigma is 2-lobed. Achenes are about 1.5 mm long and covered with silky hairs; the pappus is white with light yellow. Flowering period is from July to August. The fruiting period is from November to December.

[Habitat distribution] It grows in barren mountains, hills, grass below the mountainside, or in bushes. Distributed in Jiangxi, Fujian, Hunan, Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan, Guangxi, Guangdong, Hainan and other places.
