What are the effects and functions of Sini San?

Sinisan is the name of a traditional Chinese medicine prescription. There are four traditional Chinese medicines in Sinisan, namely Bupleurum, Licorice, Citrus aurantium and Paeonia lactiflora. These four medicines can be used in combination with each other. We know too little about traditional Chinese medicine and don’t have that much knowledge, but we should still learn more about its effects and functions, which can help us understand. So what are the effects and functions of Sinisan? Let’s take a look together!

It is a conciliatory agent that has the effects of harmonizing the liver and spleen, expelling evil and relieving depression, and soothing the liver and regulating the spleen. It is mainly used to treat Yang depression and syncope. Cold hands and feet, or abdominal pain, or diarrhea with heavy stool, and a stringy pulse; liver and spleen qi depression syndrome, distension and fullness in the ribs, pain in the epigastric region, and a stringy pulse. It is commonly used clinically to treat chronic hepatitis, cholecystitis, cholelithiasis, biliary ascariasis, intercostal neuralgia, gastric ulcer, gastritis and other diseases caused by liver and gallbladder qi stagnation and liver-stomach disharmony.

1. The main pathogenesis of plum pit qi is stagnation of phlegm and qi, with obstruction and foreign body sensation in the throat as the main symptoms. Stagnant liver qi goes against the flow and attacks the lungs, causing poor qi flow in the upper part of the body, so the treatment is to soothe the liver and regulate the lungs, as well as to descend qi and resolve phlegm. At the same time, because wind evil blocks the meridians and causes back pain, Sini San is used with a little help of Saposhnikovia divaricata and Smilax glabra to dispel wind and dredge the meridians. Especially the combination of Inula japonica and Cyperus rotundus has significant effect in regulating qi. Add Platycodon grandiflorum and almond to regulate the flow of Qi.

2. Stomachache in traditional Chinese medicine is also called epigastric pain, which includes various diseases such as acute and chronic gastritis, gastric ulcer, duodenal ulcer, antral gastritis, gastric neurosis, etc. Mr. Chen often tells us that stomachache should be treated from the liver, because the liver and stomach meridians are connected, the stomach is responsible for receiving, and the liver is responsible for dispersing, and the coordination of spleen and stomach functions depends on the smooth flow of liver qi. On the contrary, if the liver qi is not unblocked, the stomach will lose its harmony and food will not be digested. Therefore, stomachache must not only treat the stomach, but also the liver. If liver depression attacks the stomach and stomach pain is caused by stagnation of qi, Sini San can be used to soothe the liver and harmonize the stomach. If abdominal distension is obvious, Pujiangxiacaoshengtang can be used to warm the spleen yang, relieve fullness, and eliminate both digestion and tonification.

Now we know the effects and functions of Sini San. These functions are something we have never known before. Through the above content, we can take the medicine according to our needs. This will allow us to learn more about the knowledge of the medicine. However, when using it, we must base it on our own situation and follow the doctor's instructions.
