What does the Chinese medicine cat's eye grass look like?

Influenced by China's thousands of years of traditional culture, many people still trust traditional Chinese medicine when they have health problems. The idea of boiling the herbs into soup and drinking it is like a tree that has taken root and cannot be shaken. In many fields, medicinal herbs are considered folk remedies, and many people who are deeply influenced by traditional concepts will regard folk remedies as a life-saving straw. Traditional Chinese medicine still has great prestige to a certain extent. Here, I would like to introduce a Chinese medicinal herb, cat's eye grass, to everyone.

[Synonyms] cat's eye, dawan flower, dawan tree, dapan dawan

[Plant morphology] Cat's eye grass, also known as: Ear-leaf Euphorbia, fine-leaf cat's eye grass.

Perennial herb, more than 30 cm high. The stem is thin and round, branched from the base, and contains white latex. Simple leaves are alternate; leaf blades are linear, about 3 cm long and less than 3 mm wide, slightly pointed or obtuse at the tip, tapering to an inconspicuous short petiole at the base, and entire. Cup-shaped cymes are terminal; flower branches are branched 3 times; bracts are ovate-triangular or broadly triangular, with 2 involucres, round in shape; ovary is 3-chambered, styles are 3, separate, and 2 shallowly fissured at the apex. The capsule is triangular-spherical, about 2 mm in diameter, and yellow in surface. Seeds are oblong-ovate, yellow.

Growing on hillside roadsides. Distributed in Hebei, Inner Mongolia, Shanxi, Xinjiang, Northeast China and other places.

【Pharmacological action】① Antitussive, expectorant, and antiasthmatic effects

The flavonoids in the aerial parts of Euphorbia auriculariae have an antitussive effect on ammonia-induced cough in mice, and the phenol red method in mice also shows an expectorant effect, but it has no preventive effect on histamine-induced asthma in guinea pigs.

② Antibacterial effect

[Nature and flavor] Slightly cold, bitter, and poisonous.

[Functions and indications] Expectorant, antitussive, antiasthmatic, detoxifying and relieving itching.

Don't take herbs casually, learn to use them scientifically. Personally speaking, if you are sick, you should go to a regular hospital to receive scientific treatment. To a large extent, Western medicine is more effective than Chinese medicine. But I still believe in the power of combining Chinese and Western cultures. There is not much introduction about the Chinese medicine cat's eye grass, but it is enough to help those in need. Health concepts are important.
