How to preserve Korean ginseng

Korean ginseng is a relatively precious medicinal material, but Chinese medicinal materials all face the problem of how to preserve them. If they are not stored properly, they are likely to become moldy or even insect-eaten, causing us serious losses. Therefore, proper storage of Korean ginseng can not only avoid the possibility of quality change, but also retain the nutrients of Korean ginseng to the greatest extent. So, how to preserve Korean ginseng?

Korean ginseng is a precious Chinese medicinal material that can easily deteriorate; therefore, when purchasing Korean ginseng, you need to pay attention to proper storage to prevent it from deteriorating.

Korean ginseng is made from ginseng that has grown for 6 years. It is divided into two types: white ginseng and red ginseng, but the Korean ginseng usually refers to red ginseng. The authentic "Cheong Kwan Jang" Korean ginseng is equivalent to the officially certified Korean ginseng. Its preparation process and the types and proportions of other medicinal materials are kept confidential. Korean ginseng should be stored away from air, dried and sealed, and protected from moisture and insects. The storage period of Korean ginseng is generally 5-10 years. If stored properly, it can be stored for more than 10 years with almost no change in medicinal ingredients.

Korean ginseng is generally not easily eaten by insects, but it must be kept dry. When drying, it must be covered with white paper to prevent discoloration. It can be stored in a sealed wooden box or porcelain bottle.

The following three methods are often used to preserve Korean ginseng for a long time with good preservation effect.

Storage in a paper box: Place the ginseng in a paper box made of horse manure paper and store it in a warehouse or basement where there is little climate change. This way, it can be preserved from autumn to winter.

Moss preservation: This is a method of preserving ginseng in large quantities in a cool place. Put the ginseng and moss in a box or container in layers and spray them with sufficient water. It can be preserved for a week.

The above is an introduction to the correct way to preserve Korean ginseng. I hope it will be helpful to everyone. Korean ginseng has powerful health benefits, but improper storage will inevitably have a great impact on its functions. After understanding the correct storage, everyone must do a good job in this regard of Korean ginseng to avoid unnecessary losses.
