Simple leaves are opposite; petiole is 1.2-1.8cm long; stipules are born on the inner side of petiole; leaf blade is elliptic or oblong, 7-22cm long, 2-6cm wide, apex is gradually pointed, with a pointed tail, base is obtuse or broadly cuneate, margin is sparsely serrated, and tooth tip has hard glands; lateral veins are 10-13 pairs, reticulated to the margin, raised on the back together with the reticulated veins, visible on the upper side, glabrous. The flowers are bisexual, with terminal panicles, shorter than leaves, 4-17cm long, dense or loose; the flowers are 8-12mm long, white, with 2 bracts in the middle of the pedicel, 5 sepals, triangular, green, with eyelashes on the edges, or glabrous; the petals are white and glabrous; there are 5 stamens, filaments about 6mm long, sparsely covered with short soft hairs; the ovary and style are both pubescent. The fruit is nearly spherical, green when young, turning red, and black when dry, with a diameter of 7-12mm, a rough surface, a small tip at the tip, and a persistent disk. There are 2-3 seeds. The flowering period is from April to June, and the fruiting period is from July to September.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: grows on hillsides and valley forests.

[Cultivation] Biological characteristics: It prefers a cool and humid microclimate. It can tolerate shade slightly in the seedling stage. Adult trees prefer sunlight and are slightly cold-resistant. It is planted in well-drained, deep and fertile soil. Cultivation technology: Propagation by seeds. Harvest the ripe fruits in autumn, remove the peel, take out the seeds, dry them, and store them in a ventilated and dry place.
