[Original form] Mountain coral, perennial saprophytic herb, 40-100cm high. The whole plant is yellow-brown. The rhizome is thick, running horizontally underground, with scaly leaves arranging alternately on top. The stem is erect, fleshy and hard, branched at the top, and densely covered with short brown hairs. There are scattered scaly leaves. The scale leaves are triangular to triangular-lanceolate, 1-1.5 cm long, acute or slightly acute, slightly fleshy, dry and hard, with lines, and convex underneath. Flowers numerous; racemes integrated into a large panicle; bracts 3-5mm long, connected to the elongated ovary and seem to have long stalks; flower diameter about 2.5cm, yellowish brown, with red tip, and short stalks; sepals oblong or narrow lanceolate, slightly fleshy, about 2.5cm long, 4-6mm wide, covered with short brown hairs; petals are the same shape as sepals but slightly shorter, glabrous; lip broadly ovate, obtuse at tip, erect, fleshy, slightly shorter than sepals, and yellow. There are cockscomb-shaped lines on the inner surface, with fine cracks on the edges; the stamen column is long, erect, and slightly curved forward; the anthers are 2-chambered; the ovary is inferior and covered with short brown hairs. The capsule is oblong in shape, short and narrow at the base, rough on the surface, red in color, with a short stalk, hanging from the branch end. The seeds are tiny, numerous, oblong and flat, with wings around them. The flowering period is June-July, and the fruiting period is July-August.
