[Properties] This product is a stalactite aggregate, slightly conical or cylindrical. The surface is white, grayish white or brownish yellow, rough and uneven. It is heavy, hard, with a relatively flat cross section, white to light grayish white, and has star-like light when observed against light. There is often a circular hole near the center, surrounded by many light orange-yellow concentric rings. Odorless, slightly salty taste.

[Identification] Take this product and add dilute hydrochloric acid. A large number of bubbles will be produced and the solution will show the identification reaction of calcium salt (Appendix IV).

Every 1ml of disodium ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid titration solution (0.05mol/L) is equivalent to 5.004mg of calcium carbonate (CaCO3).
