Antennae pinnate, short, with white hairs at base. The wings are brown, with the top of the forewing protruding outward and a dark brown oval spot on the base. The wing surface has brown, white, yellow and pink patterns, and there is a wavy pattern running vertically across the forewings and hindwings. There is a large translucent crescent-shaped white spot in the middle, with a brown-black edge at the front edge and a yellow rear edge. The middle is white and translucent. The female has an enlarged abdomen. The larvae are dark brown when they first hatch, turning light yellow-green at the second instar. The cocoon is in the shape of a torreya nut and is white in color.

【Habitat distribution】Ecological environment: 6 to 7 generations occur every year. The larvae feed on castor leaves.
