[Original morphology] Caryopteris paniculate, a climbing or spreading shrub, 1-3m high. Many branches, branchlets square. Simple leaves are opposite; petiole is 0.5-1cm long; leaf blade is papery, broadly lanceolate to ovate-lanceolate, 7-14cm long, 2-6.5cm wide, apex is caudate-acuminate, base is rounded to broadly cuneate, margin is sparsely serrated, both sides are densely covered with golden glandular dots and sparse soft hairs; lateral veins are about 5 pairs. The cymes are arranged in a cone shape, usually axillary, 1-7cm long; the peduncle is densely pubescent; the calyx is cup-shaped, about 3mm long, with glandular dots and pubescence, about 4mm long when fruiting, with 5-6 deep lobes at the apex, and the lobes are conical; the corolla is pink to purple-red, the corolla tube is 2-3mm long, covered with hairs and glandular hairs on the outside, with 5 lobes at the apex, and the lobes are entire; there are 4 stamens, which extend out of the corolla tube together with the style; the ovary is covered with pubescence and glandular dots. The capsule is spherical, about 2mm in diameter, orange-yellow to orange-red when ripe, and slightly hairy and glandular. Flowering and fruiting period is from March to September.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Growing on hillsides, roadsides or sparse mixed forests at an altitude of 650-2300m.
