[Original form] Vitis heterophylla is a deciduous climbing vine. Branchlets slightly pubescent; tendrils opposite leaves, forked at apex. Simple leaves are alternate; petiole is 2-4cm long and pubescent; leaf blade is papery, nearly round, 6.5-14cm long, 5.5-14cm wide, 3-5-fidged at the apex, shallowly cordate at the base, green above with sparse pubescence, light green below with shiny sparse pubescence, and serrated at the margin; 3-5 basal veins. The flowers are bisexual, with cymes opposite to leaves and peduncles 1-2.5 cm long; the flowers have pedicels about 2 mm long with bracts at the base; the calyx is disc-shaped, 5-lobed, and pubescent on the outside; the petals are 5, separated and expanded, and fall off one by one; the stamens are 5, opposite to the petals; the ovary is equal in length to the stamens, surrounded by a cup-shaped disk, and the berries are spherical. The flowering period is from May to June, and the fruiting period is from June to August.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Growing on mountain slopes and valley bushes below 1200m above sea level.
