[Source] Medicinal material source: the whole herb of Pteris solani, a plant of the Pterisaceae family.

【Original form】 The plant is 20-40cm tall. The rhizome is short and upright, densely covered with brown-black linear scales. Leaves are papery, clustered, and dimorphic; nutrient petioles are 3-8cm long, brown or chestnut brown; leaf blades are broadly ovate or obovate, 8-24cm long, 5-15cm wide, caudate at the apex, and odd-pinnate; lateral pinnae are usually 2 pairs, opposite, linear, 5-20cm long, 3-4mm wide, with small sharp teeth on the edges, and the first pair is often 3-4-forked deeply lobed; leaf veins are pinnate, and lateral veins are dichotomous or unbranched; spore petioles are 5-14cm long; leaf blades are ovate to obovate, 8-24cm long, 6-16cm wide, and odd-pinnate; lateral pinnae are 2-5 pairs, linear, 7-20cm long, about 2mm wide, with small sharp teeth only in the sterile part, and the lower part is 2-3-forked or 5-forked deeply lobed. The sori are linear and distributed along the leaf veins; the sori cap is linear, membranous, entire, and grayish white.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Growing on hillside grasslands, under shrubs, on rock walls or old walls at an altitude of 250-2000m.
