"Lu Xun withdraws from Chinese textbooks"?

In response to the voices online about the deletion of Lu Xun's works from Chinese textbooks, the People's Education Press released a message through its official public account this afternoon saying that although the Chinese textbooks for primary and secondary schools have undergone many adjustments since the founding of New China, Lu Xun has always been the writer with the most works selected in the textbooks.

The People's Education Press said that the unified primary school Chinese textbook has a special "First Encounter with Lu Xun" unit in the sixth grade volume, which includes both Lu Xun's representative works and works by others who recall and commemorate Lu Xun. The unified junior high school Chinese textbook includes 7 works by Lu Xun, and the unified high school Chinese textbook includes 5 works, a total of 12 works by Lu Xun, including 3 essays, 5 novels, and 4 essays. In addition to the texts, the unified junior and high school Chinese textbooks also expand reading in a variety of ways.

"The works of Lu Xun selected in the textbooks are not static. They will also be adjusted according to the needs of the textbook writing framework. This is a normal adjustment based on the unified planning of primary and secondary school textbooks and considering the teaching feedback from the front line." said People's Education Press.

People's Education Press finally emphasized that Mr. Lu Xun's works have never been "withdrawn from textbooks" on a large scale, and Mr. Lu Xun has always been with all children who use Chinese textbooks in primary and secondary schools.
