It is estimated that 87% of China's population has a surname from the Hundred Family Surnames, and more than one-fifth of Chinese people have the surname Li, Wang or Zhang, totaling more than 275 million people.

4. Liu - accounts for 5.38% of the Han population in China = 64,600,000.

5. Chen - 4.53% of the Han population in China = 54,400,000.

6. Yang - 3.08% of the Han population in China = 37,000,000.

7. Zhao - accounts for 2.29% of the Han population in China = 27,500,000.

8. Huang - accounts for 2.23% of the Han population in China = 26,800,000.
