Now that you know the uses of blood collection tubes of various colors, let me explain to you the precautions of venous blood collection (blood drawing).

Precautions for patients before and after blood draw

There are many factors that affect blood routine examination. To ensure the accuracy of the test, you need to pay attention to the following matters:

1. Avoid high-fat and high-protein foods and drinking alcohol 3 to 5 days before the physical examination. Ensure good sleep and avoid strenuous exercise.

2. Do not eat after 8 pm the day before the physical examination, but you can drink water.

3. Wear clothes with loose cuffs and relax when having blood drawn to avoid blood vessel contraction due to fear, which will increase the difficulty of blood collection.

4. After blood collection, press the puncture point for 3 to 5 minutes until the bleeding stops.

5. If you experience symptoms of needle phobia after blood drawing, such as dizziness, blurred vision, fatigue, etc., you should lie down immediately, drink a small amount of sugar water if necessary, and leave after the symptoms disappear.

6. If the test results are abnormal, don’t be nervous. Be sure to see a doctor and they will jointly guide the next treatment plan (observation, reexamination, further examination, etc.).

7. If you are an inpatient and the test results are abnormal, please be sure to follow the doctor's instructions with your family. Blood may be drawn multiple times to eliminate test errors, conduct pre-treatment assessments, evaluate treatment effects, and monitor adverse reactions after treatment. Please understand and respect medical staff and reduce complaints.
