According to recent news, Canalys data shows that the annual PC shipments in mainland China in 2024 will be 39.7 million units, a decrease of 4%. However, AI PC shipments grew steadily in 2024, reaching 5.8 million units, accounting for 15% of total PC shipments in mainland China last year. In the fourth quarter of 2024, PC shipments in mainland China reached 8.6 million units, of which AI PCs accounted for 20%. In the fourth quarter of 2023, this share was only 7%, a 2-fold increase in one year. Canalys predicts that this trend will accelerate, and AI PCs are expected to account for 34% of PC shipments in Greater China by 2025, more than half in 2026, more than 60% in 2027, and more than 70% in 2028. Canalys analyst Xu Ying said: As AI models become more efficient and the ecosystem including AI assistants and agents gradually matures, those manufacturers who take the lead in developing AI agents and platforms will have a first-mover advantage in seizing market share. As mainland China’s unique AI ecosystem develops rapidly, manufacturers must be prepared to collaborate deeply with Chinese innovators to adapt to trends and seize emerging opportunities. |
