[Original form] Herbaceous, up to 15cm tall. Leaves are alternate; petiole is about the same length as leaf blade or twice as long as leaf blade, glabrous or covered with rusty coarse hairs; stipules are persistent, oblong-ovate, up to 1 cm long, and acute; leaf blade is membranous, ovate, oblique, 10-17 cm long, 6-11 cm wide, apex shortly acuminate, base cordate, asymmetrical, glabrous on both sides or covered with sparse small soft hairs on the back, with irregular sparse serrations on the margin; palmate veins on the back are rusty. Cymes are axillary or terminal; peduncle is extremely short; flowers are unisexual and monoecious; male flower pedicels are 4-11cm long, with 2 tepals, 3-6.5cm long, 2 petals, 1.3-4.5cm long, and 2 sphenoids that are oblong-broadly elliptical, about 3.6cm long; ovary is gyroid, nearly equal in length and width, nearly quadrangular, with 4 wingless styles, slightly fused at the base, bifurcated at the top, erect and twisted, with small nipple-like protrusions. Capsule 4-locular. Flowering period is from April to July.
