National Bureau of Statistics: China's online retail sales reached 10954.2 billion yuan from January to October 2022, a year-on-year increase of 4.9%

Recently, the National Bureau of Statistics released the latest statistical data: from January to October, the national online retail sales amounted to 10,954.2 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.9% .

Among them, the online retail sales of physical goods amounted to 9450.6 billion yuan, an increase of 7.2%, accounting for 26.2% of the total retail sales of consumer goods ; among the online retail sales of physical goods, food, clothing, and daily necessities increased by 16.7%, 5.3%, and 6.5% respectively.

Overall, in October, the total retail sales of consumer goods was 4027.1 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 0.5% . Among them, the retail sales of consumer goods other than automobiles was 3657.5 billion yuan, a decrease of 0.9%. From January to October, the total retail sales of consumer goods was 36057.5 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 0.6% . Among them, the retail sales of consumer goods other than automobiles was 32370.2 billion yuan, an increase of 0.5%.

The total retail sales of consumer goods include the online retail sales of physical goods, but exclude the online retail sales of non-physical goods. The total retail sales of consumer goods refers to the amount of physical goods sold by enterprises (units, self-employed individuals) to individuals and social groups for non-production and non-operation purposes, as well as the income from providing catering services.
