According to the "2012 E-commerce and Online Shopping Trends" data released by the Korea National Statistical Office on the 27th, the total amount of e-commerce in South Korea last year reached 114.47 trillion won (about 6.5 trillion yuan), an increase of 14.5% year-on-year. Specifically, business-to-business (B2B) transactions accounted for 91.8%, up 15.1% year-on-year, consumer-to-consumer (C2C) transactions increased 20.6%, business-to-government (B2G) transactions increased 6.6%, and business-to-consumer (B2C) transactions increased 6.0%. Last year, online shopping transactions in e-commerce amounted to 32.347 trillion won, up 11.3% year-on-year. Among them, travel and reservation services (32.3%), food and beverages (22.8%), daily necessities and automotive products (17.1%), and home appliances and communications (10.0%) transactions increased. However, software (-12.8%) and flowers (-8.9%) decreased. Among payment tools, credit cards accounted for the largest proportion, 73.1%, followed by transfers (20.9%) and electronic money (2.6%). |
