"Ben Jing" says that it is used to treat the five kinds of fatigue and seven kinds of injuries, benefit the five internal organs, and promote bleeding. Its function of promoting blood circulation is known. For anemia, astragalus (astragalus is prohibited for tuberculosis), angelica, iron and other drugs should be added as appropriate; if there is dry cough, astragalus should be removed and lung-moistening drugs should be added; if there is hemiplegia, gout and arthritis, it should be used together with Aconitum, Strychnos nux vomica and other drugs; if it is used to treat headache, it should be used with Chuanxiong, Vitex mang, and Notopterygium wilfordii; if it is used to treat madness and flower mania, it should be used with Scopolia and other drugs; it should be used together with Angelica, Aucklandia, and Notopterygium wilfordii to regulate menstruation; it should be used with Cnidium monnieri, Gypsum, Rhubarb, Toad Grass, Mustard Spike and other drugs for itching."
