[Source] The whole herb of the Pteris cernua of the Pteris cernua family.

[Original morphology] Perennial epiphytic or lithophytic herb. The rhizome is short and horizontal, densely covered with scales; the scales are narrow lanceolate, dark brown; the fibrous roots are fine and dense. Leaves are clustered, sessile or almost sessile; leaf blades are linear, 30-40 cm long, 3-8 mm wide, gradually pointed at the apex, gradually narrowing at the base, entire, leathery, with the midrib concave into a narrow groove on the upper side and slightly raised on the lower side, and the leaf margins slightly curled. The ascomycetes are linear, deeply sunken in the mesophyll, and grown in the grooves along the leaf margins. The inner edge of the grooves is raised, and there are septa in the ascomycetes.

[Habitat distribution] It grows on rocks in dark places or on large trees. Distributed in East China, South China, Southwest China and other places.

【Functions and indications】 ① "Zhejiang Tianmu Yam Plant Records": "For treating acute convulsions in children, take 3 liang of the whole herb, add brown sugar, decoct in water, and take on an empty stomach. For treating dry blood tuberculosis in women and removing eye opacities, decoct the whole herb and take it."
