[Source] It is the root of the Asteraceae plant . Dig up the roots in autumn, wash, slice, dry and set aside.

[Original form] Perennial herb. The rhizome is relatively thick, densely covered with brown hairs, and has many fibrous roots. The leaves are basal, concentric, 7-12 cm long, 6-10 cm wide, with a short pointed tip, a cordate base, and a wing-like extension. The leaf margin is sparsely serrated, the veins are finely reticular, convex on both sides, and glabrous; the petiole is 10-20 cm long. There are 1 to 2 flower stalks, about 1 meter high, 3 mm in diameter, thin cylindrical, and densely covered with white hairs on the upper end; 3 to 5 flower heads are clustered on both sides of the top of the flower stalk, white; there is 1 bract at the base of the inflorescence, which is linear-oblanceolate. Achenes are oblanceolate, brown, hairy, and have feathery pappus.
