[Source] It is the whole herb of the Agaricus scalyx of the Agaricus family . Harvest in autumn.

[Original form] Perennial parasitic succulent herb, without chlorophyll, 5 to 15 cm tall. The rhizome is thick, nearly spherical, yellowish brown, and has light-colored warts on the surface. The pedicel is red or yellowish, with a bract-like sheath in the middle; the sheath is tubular, slightly swollen at the top, 3-5 lobed, 1.5-2.5 cm long, the flowers are unisexual, monoecious or dioecious, in terminal spike inflorescences; the bisexual spikes are elliptical or spherical, sometimes nearly ovate, 1.4-2.2 cm long, about 1-1.7 cm in diameter, the male flowers are at the base of the spike, and the rest are dense female flowers with obovate bracteoles: dioecious spikes are rare; male flowers are pedunculate, with 2-6 tepals; the stamens are the same number as the tepals, the filaments are fused into a column, and the anthers are clustered; the female flowers have no tepals: the ovary is stalked, and the style is slender.

[Habitat distribution] Parasitizes on the roots of woody plants in the forest. Distributed in Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan, Hubei, southern Shaanxi and other places.

【Nature and flavor】 Spicy, neutral.

【Functions and indications】 Regulating qi and strengthening the stomach, clearing away heat and dampness, and detoxifying. Treat stomach pain, jaundice, and hemorrhoids.

[Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decoct in water, 3 to 5 cents; or stew with pig intestines.
