The leaves are protruding from the base; the petioles are soft and long, up to 20 to 25 cm; the leaves are ovate-oblong, membranous, 15 to 20 cm long, 6 to 8 cm wide, with a pointed tip and a heart-shaped base, smooth and hairless. The inflorescence stalk is short and the spathe is open; the spadix is ​​shorter than the spathe; the flowers are unisexual and monoecious, with male and female flowers close together; the perianth is absent; the male flowers have 3 to 6 pseudostamens fused into a column; the female flowers have 2 to 5 rod-shaped pseudostamens; the ovary has one chamber and contains multiple ovules. The berries are ovate.

[Habitat distribution] Grown in the shade, moist and fertile places beside ditches under forests. Distributed in Yunnan and other places.

【Nature and flavor】Warm in nature, spicy in taste, poisonous.

【Functions and indications】 Relaxes muscles and tendons, eliminates rheumatism, relieves pain, and reduces inflammation and swelling. Treat bruises, fractures, traumatic bleeding, rheumatic low back and leg pain, rheumatoid arthritis, stomachache, gastroenteritis, and sha disease.

[Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decoct in water, 1-3 qian; or soak in wine, 0.5-1 liang soak in 1 jin of wine, twice a day, 10 ml each time. For external use: mash and apply or grind into powder and sprinkle.
