[Original form] Silver-edged Jade is an annual herb, about 70cm tall. The whole plant is pubescent or glabrous. The stem is erect and forked. The leaves are ovate to oblong or elliptic-lanceolate, 3-7cm long and about 2cm wide; the lower leaves are alternate, green, and the leaves at the top are whorled, with white edges or all white. The cup-shaped inflorescences are mostly grown in the leaf axils at the top of the branches. The involucre is forest-like, densely covered with short soft hairs, with 4 lobes at the apex. There are 4 funnel-shaped glands between the lobes, with white petal-like appendages; the ovary is 3-chambered, densely covered with short soft hairs; the styles are 3, and the tip is 2-lobed. The capsule is oblate, 5-6mm in diameter, densely covered with white short soft hairs; the seeds are elliptical or nearly ovate, about 4mm long and nearly 3mm wide, with sparse wart-like protrusions on the surface, and are gray-black when ripe. The flowering period is from June to September, and the fruiting period is from August to October.
