[Original form] Perennial herb, 20 to 50 cm high. The rhizome is horizontal and covered with brown scales. Leaves are subnate, with petioles 10-20 cm long, sparsely scaly; leaf blades lanceolate to oblong-ovate-lanceolate, 12-30 cm long, 6-12 cm wide, with pointed apex, and once pinnate; pinnae 10-12 pairs, distal, sessile or lower pinnae with short petioles, several pairs, lanceolate to linear-lanceolate, 4-10 cm long, 1.5-2.5 cm wide, long acuminate at apex, deeply pinnate-lobed; lobes linear to oblong, truncated, rounded or obtuse at apex, slightly wavy at margin, herbaceous, with separate veins. There are 3 to 5 sori on each side of the midrib of the lobe, along the lateral veins, linear to oblong, with the same shape of the sori cover.

[Habitat distribution] Growing on hillsides, stream banks and moist forests. Distributed in Zhejiang, Anhui, Jiangxi, Hubei, Guangdong, Guangxi, Guizhou, Yunnan, Taiwan and other places.

【Functions and indications】Fresh root: treats red, swollen and painful eyes. Whole plant: Treats mastitis and various swellings at the initial stage.

[Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decoct in water, 0.5 to 1 liang.
