[Source] It is a plant of the genus Tupistra in the Liliaceae family, Tupistra pachynema Wang et Tang, and its rhizome is used as medicine. Dig up in autumn, remove the fibrous roots, wash, slice and dry or use fresh.

[Original form] Perennial herb. The rhizome is cylindrical, fleshy, with thin ring-shaped nodes and concentric circles in the cross section. It has many fibrous roots that are slender and rope-like. Leaves are basal, linear. The inflorescence is spike-shaped, emerging from the leaves, and is white. The berry is nearly spherical and contains one seed.
