[Source] Medicinal material source: the flowers and fruits of the perennial flax plant of the Linaceae family.

[Original form] Perennial flax is a perennial herb, 50-70cm tall. The roots are relatively thick. The stem is erect, heavily branched, and woody and smooth at the base. Simple leaves are alternate, sessile, linear or linear-lanceolate, 0.5-1.6cm long, 1-3mm wide, with acute apex, truncate base, and entire margin. Cymes grow on the upper part of stems or branches; flowers are relatively large, 2.3-2.6cm in diameter; sepals 5, spoon-shaped, ovate, pointed at apex, with white membranous margin, 3 protruding veins on the back, persistent; petals 5, light blue, yellow-brown at base, with obvious blue veins, obovate, 1-1.5cm long, 1cm wide, obtuse or slightly serrated at apex; glands 5, attached to filament base; stamens 5, reduced stamens linear; pistil 1, ovary rounded, 5-chambered, divided into 10 pseudo-chambers by pseudosepta, styles 5, longer than filaments, stigmas capitate. The capsule is spherical, longitudinally dehiscent, with 2 seeds in each locule. The seeds are flat, oblong, brown-black, shiny, with an inconspicuous white edge on the ventral surface. Flowering and fruiting period is June to August.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Growing on hillsides, river beaches and sandy wastelands at an altitude of 2000-3200m.

【Functions and indications】Unblocks meridians and promotes blood circulation. Blood stasis and amenorrhea

[Usage and Dosage] For oral administration: grind into powder, 3-9g.
