The rhizome is thick, 2-3cm in diameter, with dense residual leaf sheath fibers at the top, and the root is long and laurel-shaped and lignified. The stem has obvious stripes and shallow longitudinal grooves, densely covered with short hairs, and the stem diameter at the base is 0.5-2cm. There are many basal leaves, with petioles 5-8cm long, with broad leaf sheaths at the base, densely covered with short soft hairs; the leaf blade is broadly triangular-ovate in outline, two to three times pinnate-lobed, with about 8-9 pairs of pinnae in the first round, and the last segments are linear or thread-shaped, 1-4cm long, 0.5-1mm wide, with sparse short soft hairs; the stem leaves are similar to the basal leaves, but the pinnae are reduced, the leaf sheaths are triangular-ovate, and the uppermost part has a short and dense leaf sheath. The compound umbel is conical and branched, with 6-10 bracts, ovate-lanceolate, and covered with white soft hairs on the outside; the umbel is 2-4cm in diameter, with 10-20 rays, 1-2cm long, and hairy; the umbel has 10-20 flowers; the bracts are about 10, ovate-lanceolate, and hairy on the outside; the calyx teeth are conical or lanceolate and hairy; the petals are white, oblong, and covered with long white hairs on the outside; the stylopodium is conical, and the styles are forked and curved. The fruit is oblong, 3-4mm long, about 1mm wide, densely covered with soft hairs, and slightly pentagonal in cross section. There is one oil tube in each groove and two oil tubes on the commissure. The flowering period is June-July, and the fruiting period is August-September.
