[Source] Medicinal material source: The root or bark of Psoralea corylifolia or Psoralea corylifolia of the Lauraceae family.

[Original form] 1. Golden-haired new wood is a tree, up to 14m high. Young branches are yellow-brown or reddish-brown with rusty short hairs; terminal buds are conical, with scales covered with filamentous short hairs on the outside and rusty eyelashes on the edges. Leaves are alternate or clustered at the top of branches in whorls; petioles are 7-15mm long and covered with rusty short soft hairs; leaf blades are oblong, elliptic to oblong-lanceolate or oblong-obovate, 8-14cm long, 2.5-4cm wide, with sickle-shaped or acuminate apex, cuneate or nearly circular base, entire, leathery, densely covered with golden silky hairs on the underside, rarely with brownish red silky hairs. Umbels of 3-5 clusters grow at branch tops or internodes; flowers are unisexual and dioecious; petals are 4, elliptical, about 3mm long; 6 fertile stamens are arranged in 3 whorls, filaments have soft hairs at base, glands at base of third whorl are stalked, anthers have 4 chambers; female flowers have 1 pistil, glabrous, obvious style, and shield-shaped stigma. The fruit is oval, about 8mm in diameter; the fruit receptacle is shallow disc-shaped, 3-4mm in diameter; the fruit pedicel is 5-7mm long, slightly thickened at the tip, and has sparse soft hairs. The flowering period is February-March, and the fruit ripening period is September-October.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: 1. Neolitonia chinensis grows on the edge of forests on hillsides or in mixed forests.

[Chemical composition] The bark of the golden-haired New Litsea cubeba contains laurolitsine, litsericine, N-methyllitsericine, anonaine and roemerine.
