[Source] Medicinal material source: The flowers of Impatiens acutestoides of the Impatiens family.

[Original form] Impatiens Sharp-toothed, annual herb, 30-70cm tall. Stems strong, erect, branched. Leaves are alternate; petiole 1-4cm long, with 2 petiolate glands at the base; leaf blade ovate or ovate-lanceolate, 4-15cm long, 2-4.5cm wide, acute or acuminate at the apex, cuneate at the base, glabrous on both sides, with sharp serrations on the margins; 7-8 pairs of lateral veins. The peduncle is extremely short, axillary, with 1-2 flowers, slender pedicels, and 2 bristle-like bracts at the base; the flowers are large, pink or purple-red; there are 4 sepals, 2 of which are semi-ovate on the outside with long cusps, and 2 on the inside with narrow lanceolate; the standard petal is round, with a narrow keel-like protrusion on the midrib on the back and a small cusp at the apex; the wing petals are sessile, 2-lobed, with the base lobe broadly oblong, the upper lobe large, axe-shaped, and 2 shallowly lobed at the apex, with obvious auricles on the back, the lip is sac-shaped, and the base is extended into a short incurved spur; there are 5 stamens, and the anthers are obtuse. Capsule fusiform, with a pointed beak at the apex. Seeds are few, spherical and slightly shiny. Flowering period is July-September, and fruiting period is June-October.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Grown under forests or beside ditches in valleys at an altitude of 1000-2600m.

【Functions and indications】Promote blood circulation and regulate menstruation; promote diuresis. It is used to treat blood stasis, amenorrhea, postpartum lochia retention, urinary dysfunction, carbuncle, furuncle and furuncle.
