[Source] This product is a medicinal material commonly used by Tibetans. It is the dried mature fruit of Phyllanthus emblica L., a plant of the Euphorbiaceae family . The fruits are harvested when they are ripe from winter to the following spring, and then impurities are removed and dried.

[Properties] This product is spherical or oblate, with a diameter of 1.2 to 2 cm. The surface is brown to dark green, with light yellow granular protrusions, wrinkles and inconspicuous 6 ridges, and the fruit stalk is about 1mm. The exocarp is 1 to 4 mm thick, hard and brittle. The endocarp is yellowish white, hard-core-like, with slightly 6 ridges on the surface. There are several veins on the upper part of the dorsal suture. It can split into 6 petals after drying. Seeds 6, nearly triangular, brown. Slight odor, sour taste, sweet aftertaste.
