[Source] It is the whole herb of Malvaceae , a plant of the Malvaceae family . Harvest in autumn.

[Original form] Upright, branched, subshrub, usually less than 0.5 meters high. The leaves are extremely small, oblong-obovate to obovate, 1 to 2 cm long, concave at the apex, truncated or rounded, usually broad, cuneate at the base, with serrated edges, grayish white on the back, and densely covered with stellate soft hairs. Flowers are solitary in leaf axils, usually with short petioles and about 8 mm in diameter; calyx is 5-lobed, with lobes arranged in a valvate manner; petals are 5, yellow; stamens are numerous; mature carpels are smooth or wrinkled, with short awns. Flowering period is winter.

[Habitat distribution] Growing on wasteland roadsides. Distributed in South China and Southwest China.

[Nature and flavor] "Guizhou Folk Medicine": "slightly cold in nature, bitter and pungent in taste."

【Functions and indications】 Clears away dampness and heat, and relieves sore toxins. Treat dysentery, jaundice, furuncle, and swelling.

[Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decoct in water, 1 to 2 liang. For external use: mash and apply.

[Additional prescription] ① For treating dysentery or jaundice: 1 to 2 taels of beef rib tendon. Take it in decoction.
