[Other names] Goose does not eat grass (Flora of Guangzhou), ground pepper (Luchuan Materia Medica), fist chrysanthemum (Guangxi Plant List).

[Source] It is the whole herb of the Asteraceae plant . Harvested in summer and autumn.

[Original morphology] Annual herb, spreading or creeping, 6-20 cm long, branched at the base, bald or covered with coarse hairs. Leaves are alternate; petiolate; obovate or inverted triangular-rectangular, 1 to 2.5 cm long, with rounded tips and entire or coarsely toothed margins. Inflorescence capitulate, lateral, sessile or with short stalks, oblate, about 5 mm in diameter; involucre hemispherical, green, bracts round, concave and blunt; flowers all tubular, heteromorphic; peripheral female flowers, purple; shorter than involucre, very numerous; disc flowers bisexual, less common, floral tube 3-5 lobed. Achenes are very small and without pappus. Flowering period is summer.

[Habitat distribution] It likes to grow in rice fields or beside fields. Distributed in southern my country.

【Nature and flavor】 "Luchuan Materia Medica": "spicy, warm."

【Functions and indications】 Treat injuries from falls, red and swollen eyes.

【Usage and Dosage】 For external use: mash and apply.

[Additional prescription] To treat red and swollen eyes: Take 3 grams each of mouse's paw prints, field yellow, and plowshare grass, pound them and apply to Hegu acupoint. If your left eye hurts, apply it to the right side; if your right eye hurts, apply it to the left side. (Luchuan Materia Medica)
