[Original form] Rosette-leaved clematis, a perennial herb, over 15 cm tall. Covered with white long hairs. The main root is short and gyroscope-shaped, with few lateral roots, which are often fleshy and hypertrophic, up to 6 cm long. The leaves are almost all basal, mostly rosette-shaped; the leaf blades are narrow, oblanceolate, about 4 cm long or longer, with rounded tips, gradually narrowing at the base into a wide-winged petiole, and sharp teeth on the edges. The flower stem is single or multiple, erect, with or without branches at the bottom, leafless or with only 1-2 small opposite or alternate leaves. Inflorescence, flowers are sparse; bracts are thorn-shaped, short, and those at the bottom of the pedicel are slightly longer than the calyx; calyx is campanulate, about 5mm long, with 5 calyx teeth, as long as the calyx tube, calyx teeth are lanceolate, acute, and veins are not obvious; corolla is violet, about 1cm long, the upper lip is very short, triangular, the middle lobe of the lower lip is longer than the lateral lobes, and all are entire; stamens are 4, didyna.
