There are 2 involucral bracts, leaf-like, sessile, each with 3 deep lobes, the lobes are obovate to obovate, 3.5-9cm long, 1.5-4.5cm wide, with serrated edges. Umbels 3, involucral bracts 3-7, oblanceolate or broadly linear, 0.7-3.5cm long, 3-6mm wide; umbels many-flowered, male flowers 15-20, calyx teeth ovate-lanceolate, acuminate at apex, with 1 vein in the middle; petals light pink to purple-red, concave at apex; bisexual flowers 3-5, calyx teeth, petals the same color as male flowers; style twice as long as calyx teeth, recurved outwards. The fruit is oval or ovate, about 4.5mm long and 4mm wide, with a tubercle-like protrusion at the base and light yellow or golden hooked prickles on the upper part. The fruit is oval in cross section and has 5 oil tubes. Flowering and fruiting period is from June to September.
