Huangshizhi is a kind of traditional Chinese medicinal material with very wide effects. We can use Huangshizhi in many places. Huangshizhi also plays a very important role in the treatment and relief of many diseases. Now let us learn about Huangshizhi. 【Alias】 Yellow Talisman [Source] Medicinal material source: It is a finely dispersed multi-mineral aggregate with the silicate hydromica group mineral hydromica-illite (containing iron hydroxide) or (and) kaolinite group mineral kaolinite-haywater kaolinite as the main components. [Original form] 1. Individual flakes, aggregates of scales, thin flakes, or dense to loose blocks (hydromica in a colloid dispersion state, specifically called illite); white, yellow due to the adsorption of a small amount of iron hydroxide; or with gray, red, or green tones. The dense blocks have a greasy luster and a shell-like to almost shell-like fracture; the loose blocks have an earthy luster and an uneven fracture with pores. Hardness 2-3. Relative density 2.5-2.8. It feels slippery and sticky to the tongue. The ion exchange capacity and adsorption of pure ones are lower than those containing kaolinite or montmorillonite-nontronite; the coarse particle size is not as good as the fine particle size. [Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: 1. It is mainly the product of acidic igneous rocks or volcanic rock alteration. It is produced in Shanxi, Hebei, Henan and many provinces and regions in South China; in the porcelain clay producing areas in South China, it often coexists with white ochre and red ochre. The hydromica yellow ochre enriched by leaching in the weathering zone mostly appears below the red ochre layer. 【Properties】 Identification of properties: This product is in irregular block shape. Yellow or dark yellow, some with dark yellow patterns or spots. Greasy or earthy luster. It is hard in texture and can be broken into pieces with light impact. The cross section is uneven and layered. It feels smooth to the touch, slightly absorbent, and slightly sticky to the tongue when licked. It has a slight earthy smell and a light taste. The best ones are yellow, shiny and free of impurities. [Chemical composition] It is mainly composed of hydrated potassium aluminum silicate [KAl(Si4O10)(OH)8·4H2O] and contains the impurity Fe(OH)3·nH2O, so it appears yellow. It also contains trace elements such as magnesium, calcium, titanium, barium, and manganese. 【Identification】 (1) X-ray diffraction analysis curves: hydromica 9.98 (2), 4.98 (1), 4.46 (1); halloysite 2.45 (1); quartz 4.25 (2), 3.34 (10), 2.45 (1). This shows that the yellow ochre system is composed of minerals such as hydromica, kaolinite, and quartz. 【Nature and flavor】 Bitter; neutral; non-toxic 【Entry into Meridians】 Spleen; Large Intestine Meridian 【Functions and indications】 Strengthens the spleen and astringes the intestines; stops bleeding and heals ulcers. It is used to treat diarrhea with pus and blood, carbuncle, malignant ulcer, and sore that does not heal for a long time. [Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decoct in water, 10-20g, crush and decoct first. 【Note】Use with caution if you have damp-heat accumulation. [Various Comments] "Bie Lu": "Yellow ochre grows on Mount Song, its color is like that of a young oriole. It can be harvested at any time." 【Excerpt】 Chinese Materia Medica After learning so much about the traditional Chinese medicine Huangshizhi, I believe that we can remain calm when facing the troubles of illness and treat the treatment of the disease correctly. |
